The original “Sarah Petites” was a women’s clothing company founded by my poppy, Herman Hack. Herman was a pilot in WWII. He landed in Normandy, fought at the Battle of the Bulge, and liberated concentration camps in Germany. When he returned to the US, he spent most of his career as a traveling clothing salesman. Toward the end, he started Sarah Petites, named after his mother who is my namesake—and he designed his own line of womenswear.
Like my poppy, I am a romantic with compulsions to eat lots of sweets and to root for the ever-problematic New York Jets.
